For our client, leading international manufacturer and supplier of furniture fittings and architectural hardware we are looking for a Senior PURCHASER.
Manage the day-to-day business relationship with key suppliers through supporting activities including ordering, communication of demand/ volume/ delivery time changes, issue resolution, sharing of end-user feedback, follow up
on orders, etc.
Accurate and timely processing of all purchase orders according to defined processes.
Develop a strong understanding and knowledge of suppliers and own area of responsibility.
Assist with contract and catalogue development and execution.
Facilitate bids, analysis and negotiations for goods and services.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of goods and services that meet the quality, service and price performance standards of the company.
Drive implementation of global/regional agreements.
Working with stakeholders and leadership teams to implement and enforcing polices that increase spend visibility and compliance.
Works closely with Finance teams to expedite receiving and AP processes.
Collaborate and communicate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize procurement goals and objectives.
Academic and Professional Experience:
College degree in economics/Engineering or equivalent. Any type of certification in SCM would be an advantage (certification of completion and graduation required).
You must have +2 years plus experience in Procurement, with a good ‘hands on’ understanding of MRP planning.
Skills & Attributes:
Proven track record in developing operational plans and implementing against them
Analytical, negotiation & problem resolution skills especially with external suppliers
Excellent understanding of process engineering & cost analysis
Proactive business orientation, with demonstrated attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in execution.
Excellent SAP knowledge (MM and WHS)
Excellent English knowledge ( writing and speaking)
Proficient in MS Outlook MS Word and Excel,
Able to work at a high level of autonomy with little supervision.
Possess negotiation skills in dealing with internal and external customers.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
