Director of Engineering – CLOSED

Timisoara, Romania

For one of our clients in the IT industry, we’re looking for a Director of Engineering to lead their engineering efforts in Timisoara.

In this role you will be responsible for all the Software Engineering within the organisation. You will direct the software engineering function in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications/ operating systems according to business needs. You will create a vision for Engineering excellence of the organisation based on the business, technology and Software Development group strategies and make sure it gets rolled out. Use your expertise and knowledge to make sure the projects are successful. Your role is a mix of both Managerial and Technical. You will leverage your personal technical depth as a former developer and architect in order to set a personal standard for Computer Science excellence, to push your teams and to assess the talent base you need to maintain.

• Technology and Architecture
• The success of projects developed exclusively or jointly by the organization
• Developer culture and making sure engineers have the right mindset and skills
• Is the single point of contact for others when it comes to projects
• Represents the organization in the local and international technology community
• Leads the local teams of architects, scrum masters, product owners and project managers
• Engage with customers and product managers to ensure that product delivery obsessively aligns with customer value creation
• Transforming existing teams of engineers and architects into a highly effective engineering function
• Partially responsible for the overall vision for the organisation, for organisation’s people growth and development and performance management
